If you've been a part of my community for a bit, you know I was a HUGE fan of Convertkit. And hey, I still like Convertkit, but I felt like I was missing the visual, fun, and creative piece that I craved when communicating with my audience. Sure, MailChimp had visuals for newsletters, but MailChimp, as we know, has their limitations.
Also, as your email list grows with Convertkit, so does the bill. So, I started doing some research in some Facebook Groups and found this new software called Flodesk and I've been in love ever since!
I wanted to share this with you all one, because it can work for both product and service-based pet businesses. It can also work for pet software companies. This doesn't JUST apply to pet businesses either, by the way. Whether you're just sending monthly newsletters OR you are implementing targeted email automations and sequences, Flodesk is awesome sauce and I'm excited to share my experience with it and some of the reasons why I ultimately ended up switching over from Convertkit.
First things first, I actually recorded my screen for you all when I went into the interface and designed my first email. (FYI the video seems to be like 2-3 seconds behind my voice and it periodically would skip a little beat, but oh well! You get the point!).
Essentially, the reason I'm loving this platform is because it combines two imperfect systems (Convertkit and MailChimp) into one, bringing all of it's best features.
I can now have the aesthetics/visuals of MailChimp in a more robust platform like Convertkit.
So...
Reason 1: You can create BEAUTIFUL emails that feel more aligned to your brand and more personal to your audience.
As I showed in my video, it's extremely simple to just create really branded and wonderful emails that I actually feel more excited to produce for my audience. I think that's a big piece of the quality of content I produce. If I'm having more fun in the creation process, then I'll end up creating better content that will be useful for you.
Both Convertkit and MailChimp were lacking when it came to this.
Reason 2: The pricing system is WAY better (and less complicated).
With Convertkit, the price I paid kept increasing as my email list grew, even if I was JUST under the cusp of the next level, which made me feel like I was overpaying.
With MailChimp, you can definitely start out for free, but you end up missing out on SO many features. When you start implementing these features, it almost feels like they're 'nickel and diming' you, which I don't appreciate!
Reason 3: It's SIMPLE. And I like simple.
My biggest goal in my business right now is to simplify and focus on the things that I actually enjoy doing. And I'd LOVE to send you beautiful emails that ALSO help grow my list, build my community, and also converts. Flodesk is definitely able to do that for me, which I'm really excited about.
